Demonstrators are gathered at City Hall in opposition to the sit/lie ordinance and the recent covert changes made to the enforcement guidelines by the mayor, the police chief and the city attorney. Under these new changes, citizens of Portland are now permitted to assemble for 8 hours. After that they are subject to arrest for violation of the Obstructions as Nuisances ordinance.
I am told that around 100 people are gathered in front of city hall. The police and press are also there. I was told that the police issued a warning and then most of the officers left. Demonstrators do not know what the warning was but people are guessing that the police meant that the 8 hour clock started ticking when they issued the warning. Tick Tock.
Like sands of the hourglass so are the hours you are allowed to protest.
This is BULL. Get your bodies down there!

More sit-in participants urgently needed right now!
