Proof Iraq had WMDs - run radicals run & hide!

"So, it's a tremendous time to be alive."
And if that ain't enough to make you radicals piss in your pants MSNBC.com has just reported that Bush has been endorsed by the Holy Spirit.

MSNBC.com Aug. 13 Is the Bush administration turning to a televangelist doomsayer for political predictions? Apocalyptic preacher Jack Van Impe is claiming that he was contacted by Condoleezza Rice's office and the White House Office of Public Liaison for an "outline" of his take on world events.

VAN IMPE is the author of such books as "Israel's Final Holocaust" and "The Great Escape: Preparing for the Rapture, the Next Event on God's Prophetic Clock."

He has predicted that the end of the world will strike somewhere between 2003 and 2012 and one reviewer has called his TV preaching show with wife Rexella "a fantastically loopy apocalyptic take on the week's news."

The issue of the alleged involvement with the Bush administration came up on his Web site when someone asked Van Impe, "Do you think that President Bush, apparently a Christian man, believes and knows he is involved in prophetic events concerning the Middle East and final battle between good and evil?"

"I believe he is a wonderful man," Van Impe responded, and goes on to say, "I was contacted a few weeks ago by the Office of Public Liaison for the White House and by the National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice to make an outline. And I've spent hours preparing it. I will release this information to the public in September, but it's in his hands. He will know exactly what is going to happen in the Middle East and what part he will have under the leading of the Holy Spirit of God. So, it's a tremendous time to be alive."

This would conincide with the global peak of oil production.

Only a fool 13.Aug.2003 15:11

Believe every word

Only a fool would make light of something he or she does not understand. Calling events "loopy" put forward in Holy Scripture is a very dangerous thing for a person to do. To think that the events now unfolding were not fortold thousands of years ago is evidence that the person who thinks this is unread, or not very intelligent. Read the Holy Bible with leadership from the Holy Spirit and you too will see and understand. You have a very simple choice to make, but you had better be very well informed before you make it. Only a fool would make an important decision without knowing all sides and aspects of the matter. The decision of life or death of your immortal soul fits the bill of important, don't you think? Christians are called intollerant, but they are only intollerant of things that God has said to be intollerant of! There are boundaries in life that must be observed. This has been true for all of time. I don't know a whole lot about Van Impe, but I do believe what he says is true as is laid out in plain sight in the Book of Revelation. It's there for anyone to see. "Whosoever Will" is how the Scripture reads.

Christian Pastor

So your comment was an attempt to help the radical community think even less of Christians than they already do?
I must say that you are so far off base in your understanding of scripture that that is the only conclusion that I can come to.
For the rest of the thinking crowd, please disregard this incredibly narrow minded comment. It is time for those who follow Jesus - the radical, peace loving, justice minded, Son of God who stood with the poor and defied the empire to stand up against some of the wayward anti Christian comments that get posted on this site. There are "christians" and then then there are those who follow in the footsteps of Jesus Christ. They are not necessarily the same group. You will find us radical Jesus followers standing with you as we protest bush and call for peace, justice and disarmament of the corporate empire etc. etc.

Thank you sir for sitting yourself in judgement of me. Disregard if you please as that is your right, but I sure am thankful that you are not my pastor, and I truly feel sorry for the folks who are. I will pray for you all.

I believe "intollerant" is spelled intolerant. Ignorance is no excuse, but ignorance explains what you wrote.

Thanks for mentioning it. 13.Aug.2003 17:50

That extra 'l' was bothering me too. It just kept showing up.

end times? 13.Aug.2003 23:20

pax universale

if there are end times, then there will be end times. if it was foretold in truth, it will have been foretold in truth, perhaps by many. if i die or become diseased, then i will die or be diseased. if i am raptured by some great promise, then i will be raptured body and soul. if i have only this life and perhaps no soul, then i will live this life and no more. i can only live here and now the best i can, just like everybody else. everyone's best is relative so i cannot judge but i can act upon what i see as wrongdoing, again my own perspective. spelling may be irrelevant as words might not exist at all. who knows? who knows? who knows?

end times 14.Aug.2003 00:40

symphonius

No need to worry about the end times. When the sun goes into the red giant phase ( sun's outer atmosphere egulfs the inner planets, including Earth) that will be the end times, and that is one or two billion years in the future. So whoop it up while ye can!

Believes Every Word

That's right Jack, if you have nothing intelligent to say, just make fun of a person for a misspelled word. That's called grasping at straws. By the way, based on the doctrine you put forth in your posts your calling yourself a "christian pastor" is sorta like a pig calling himself a race horse. Saying it just don't make it so. I am proud of being "narrow minded" as you say. Jesus said "narrow is the way".

To Christian Pastor 14.Aug.2003 07:11

A non-Christian liberal

The Christian community needs more people like you, who know how to read the Bible. Most of these buffoons scour it for passages to apologize for corporate aggression and hostile foreign policies. You are right about these Bush apologists, who like their belief to be a disguise for crooked politics, looking like fools and idiots to everyone else.

'Believes Every Word'-- 14.Aug.2003 20:21

really, REALLY wants to know

what exactly **DO** you have "intelligent to say"?
"I am proud of being 'narrow minded' as you say."

to non Christian liberal 14.Aug.2003 22:28

Christian Pastor

I have not posted since my original comment which upset "believes every word". My experience is that with those folks who are literalist/fundalmentalists it is not possible to dialogue. Their understanding of scripture is very different. Jesus by the way did not say to be 'narrow minded' as I am sure you know, though believes every word may be offended.
It is difficult for people who have been raised with the narrow view to change their thinking, for that reason I don't generally like to argue with them. Too many people grow to adulthood with a childlike understanding of religion, faith and spirituality in general. It is sad because in no other area do so many people choose to remain with their childhood understandings. They would be embarrassed to continue with say a child's understanding of sex or medicene or mathematics. But with religion, they stop growing. There is a verse, Luke 18:17 that tells people to be as children --- but it is speaking to the straight forward, honest, non manipulative sense of being children. It is not telling people to be infantile or childish. Adult faith however is very difficult. Jesus was a radical who resisted the empire and broke the norms of society which marginalized and oppressed . Granted many people have used Christianity to do the same thing, beginning especially with Constantine., but there are many many Christians who have reached back behind the Constatinian fiasco to reclaim Jesus as the radical, non violent Christ figure he was.
We are the ones who you will find walking beside you in the fight for justice.
I am very offended that bush uses biblical language to justify his violence and greed.
see you on the streets!

To' believes every word': Thanks for the prayers. I will pray for you too.
