CNN Anchor Hit & Run v. Cyclist in NYC

Cafferty receives only token fine and community service after driving into cyclist and fleeing the scene
After fleeing the scene of the May 14th NYC accident, apparently dragging the bicycle underneath his car several blocks further, even through two red lights, anchor Jack Cafferty claimed "I was unaware I was in an accident", according to the Atlanta Constitution-Journal. Cafferty received only a $250 fine and requirement to perform community service; Cafferty apparently also paid "restitution"--the cyclist needs surgery on his elbow.

The Atlanta paper further explained, "Cafferty was charged with leaving the scene of an accident, reckless driving, assault and harassment. He was allowed to plead guilty to a traffic violation."

Shocked, Shocked at CNN Reporter is a Liar!!!! 13.Aug.2003 09:08

He dragged the bike two blocks, through two red lights!? It is a little "hard to believe" he didn't know he was in an accident. How devoted are CNN reporters to the truth?

fair & balanced, too

As Edward R. Murrow said, "To be persuasive, we must be believable; to be believable, we must be credible; to be credible, we must be truthful."

Naw, that's too hard.

Then Jack says on 8/27 that the protesters in NYC for the Republican Convention who break treaspassing laws, "should spend years in jail." I guess treaspassing is a worse offense than leaving the scene of an accident, dragging a bicycle under your car while running red lights while fleeing the scene, and later claiming that he didn't realize anything happened. If treaspassing warrants "years in jail," what should old Jack receive???
