YouthResistance

The purpose of the Front is to aknowledge that the purpose of the public education system has more to do with the system then it has to do with public education. The purpose of the Front is to organize a student resistance capable of going on strike, of self education, of fighting back. The purpose of the Front is to aknowledge that we're sick of this systematic mass therapy bullshit and to take the school out of the hands of the plutocracy, even if that means abandoning it.

Calamity Jane

Nope, school isnt about learning anything meaningful (and many meaningful pieces of good lit use the same opening in consecutive sentences)
School teaches you to be a cog in the machine, to wait inline, to accept what you are given, to seek permission to speak, to allow others to tell you what the right answer is

Rock on Front!

If it were up to me, the Purpose of the Front would be to fix that shitty black-on-maroon text, thus making it possible to read your website.

Whadda joke.

Actually, starting several sentences with the same word or phrase is a very effective writing or speaking technique used to drive home a point. Actually, it's used in poetry a lot. Actually, even George Bush uses it.

Actually, not that his rhetoric is something to aspire to.

Dr. Evil

Students who strike should quickly become ex-students. They want to play games, let them do it on their own time.

I honestly don't see what's so hard about reading black-on-maroon text. I just went to the site and had no trouble. Maybe it's a problem with your eyes/monitor.

BRAVO - keep doing what you're doing 23.Jul.2003 20:41

GRINGO STARS

If you stay in the indoctrination institution (school) then you can spread the word to the other inmates (students) - putting up posters and distributing unschooling and homeschooling information.

Why don't you just quit school and go to work? I mean, most kids don't really need school beyond age 15 or 16, anyway, right? Hell, screw it all and just start working.
