http://www.raisethefist.com/american-small.gif TAKE ACTION to help students at the University of Florida (UF) pass a resolution in support of farmworkers and the Taco Bell boycott!
These farmworkers in FL have not had a raise for over 20 YEARS! and are not allowed to organize a union.
Tomorrow, Tuesday July 8, at 7PM EST, UF Student Government will vote on a resolution in support of the Taco Bell boycott. This resolution is the latest step in the efforts of the UF chapter of the Student / Farmworker Alliance to Boot the Bell from their campus. Your help is crucial in persuading the Student Government to confront the reality of exploitation in Florida's farming industry.
How important is this resolution? Important enough for Taco Bell to send a representative to the school twice in the past three weeks in an attempt to discredit the testimony that farmworkers from Immokalee will be presenting tomorrow night. This is the first time in the two years of the boycott that Taco Bell has felt pressured enough to resort to this kind of desperate ploy.
What students at UF are asking is that you, our allies, write brief letters in support of the resolution to the following two Student Government representatives:
Jamal Sowell, email@example.com
Joe Goldberg, firstname.lastname@example.org
