short report on last week's: 24.Apr.2003 09:16

T.v.L.i.m.i.t. BNB with quotes from family LoveAndEqualityDiscussion@yahoo.com

Dear family,

Hello. How are you? Well, I hope. In the name of love and peace, I consider everyone, everywhere my family. I would like to share with you some words on last week's 'Out Loud' open mike poetry session. These words are quoted directly from one or more peace activist family members who would like to remain unnamed.

"Short report on last week's:

anna decastro was the total star, yelling,
'they knew what they were doing!'
(when they let the iraqi national museum be plundered)
and, 'no foundation!'
(referring to the same thing - reducing iraq
to a state of culturelessness
comparable to mr. bush's america)

walt was in top form
with his giant anti-auto piece and his
world-turned-to-primordial-snot piece

stephen was also in great voice
(he takes to this - opposing war -
with a vengeance)

we had three startling a capella women

several small strange guys with very brief
and sharp and poignant things

only two people dissolved into tears,
though moe's opening piece
dissolved everyone

and an african-american grandmother,
terse, spoke her mind.

at the start, in the middle, and at the end
i read short poems of lucian stryk, akhmatova, tsvetaeva,
and (so no-one would have to follow walt)
that precision-guided ariel dorfman thing that goes
'don't believe them
don't believe them
don't believe them'

there's still more high-points i've left out
and there wasn't a single poet
we had to wrestle off the stage. "

Thats the end of quotes for now.

I, sincerely hope that everyone comes out tonight to the open mike peace party. No matter who you are, you are greatly welcome. Even if you typically don't like poetry, please come out and be part of this event. It is free-of-charge. Maybe you can come out and give someone a peace hug in the name of peace worldwide! Every little peaceful action in the name of peace truly helps.

True Love & Unity... ...for the people,
