Hello there friend. You are invited to join your fellow workers in the

The forum is called
EDUCATION IN CRISIS!
A Forum on Workers' Strategies and Solutions from the Bottom Up
It is being hosted by a small worker-run union called
Campus & Education Workers Industrial Organizing Committee, which is a
branch of the Industrial Workers of the World.
At this forum we have education workers from Portland colleges and
schools presenting on topics such as Privitization, Cross-Craft
organizing on campus, School and Curriculum Reform, and Democratizing
our unions. This forum intends to strategize a more effective
direction for workers to take the reigns of power and assert our
interests to improve education and improve the conditions for workers
on our campuses.
Bus drivers, professors, grad students, janitors, engineers,
pre-school teachers, plummers, clerical workers and all workers and
students in the education industry are encouraged to come and share
their experiences and ideas.
The date for the Forum is
Saturday April 19, 5-8pm.
We are holding the event at the IWW Union Hall
located at 616 E. Burnside.
There will be presentations, a round-table strategy session, and dinner
will be provided free.
For more information, please call the IWW Union Hall at 503-231-5488
and leave a message for IOC 620, Campus & Education Workers.
Please forward this email to anyone interested and tell your fellow
workers about this event.
Hope to see you there!
