ACTION: Solidarity for low-income and working class

On Friday, April 11th Senator Gordon Smith, Mark Hatfield and Governor Kulongoski will be at a cocktail dinner party at the Portland Art Museum.The Oregon Human Rights Coalition will be demonstrating in front of the Portland Art Museum to send Senator Smith a clear message that we do not approve of tax cuts that benefit the wealthiest 1% of Americans.

In a time of War, everyone is expected to sacrifice, not just poor families. Yet the House and Senate budget resolutions include billions in tax cuts that overwhelmingly benefit the wealthiest families while cutting discretionary spending programs and shortchanging healthcare, education, social services, and homeland defense.
