As a part of my community work with Providence Health Systems, I've put together a small film series that is open to the public and employees of the hospital. Since Gandhi was such a leader - and was instrumental in the implementation of mass civil disobedience (general strike, etc.), I thought everyone here might like to know.
When: Friday, April 4th - 6:30pm (film is 188 minutes)
Where: Providence Medical Center (NE 47th and Glisan) - in the Amphitheater
Details: For directions to the Amphitheater, ask the front desk - or take the Grey Elevator to the basement (left out of elevator, left at corner, theater is on your right)
Hope to see some Indymedia folk there....
Winner of 9 Oscars (including Best Picture - 1982), this inspiring bio-pic of
Gandhi tells the story of a small-time lawyer who become India's spiritual leader through his philosophy of non-violent but direct-action protest. (rated PG for violence and mild language)
