Officer Hunzeker would not allow a "release of property" to another individual upon requests. Included in the property of the second arrestee was both a video camera and several videotapes. Several citizens witnessnessed both arrests and claimed that police were arresting the videographer to "cover-up" a mis-arrest of the first to be arrested. The two were said to have been transported to Central Precinct. The officer driving the police car which held one of them said he was going to Central Precinct. Friends of the two said they called local Jail Support #'s and that people will be gathering at the "INJUSTICE CENTER" awaiting the release of those wrongly arrested.

Peace Angel angel@spiritone.com

I witnessed three arrests today in relationship to peace activism. Two men were arrested standing by the newspaper boxes on the SW corner of pioneer square at approximately 1:30 There were standing there with signs not doing anything in particular. They were not blocking traffic. I believe at least one man refused to show I.D but that was the extent if any identifiable reason for the arrest. They may have stepped of the curb, but it dips in there for cabs and they WERE NOT interfereing with any traffic or police actions.

Another guy got arrested on 10th during a peaceful and law abidding sidewalk march. He stepped of the curb at a red light and was warned that he was "done" and needed to leave. When he refused, he was arrested.

What can we do to address this ridiculous harrassment?

if you know those people 29.Mar.2003 16:30

jail support

if you know either of those people please call jail support, we have no information on the male arrested yet.

also, if anyone talks to any of the arrestees from today, please have them try to distribute the jail support number to the other arrestees, as we are not sure how much our number was advertised today.
