SB 742 bill hasn't passed yet -- another hearing soon

Not many who signed up to testify were able to. Another hearing will be scheduled.
Immigrant rights advocacy groups strongly objected to certain aspects of the bill which would have chilling effects on their rights and would make immigrants fearful to call police for domestic or other violent abuse they may suffer.

This bill would carry punishment of up to life in prison for actions appearing to stop commerce, among other things

Don't know-- not that corporate media is that trustworthy I guess, but that is what was being said on OPB at around 8:40 this morning. It was said that not all speakers had spoken, gave some of the audio testimony from immigrant rights advocacy groups, and other civil rights concerns... and said another hearing will be scheduled.

Dunno but at 8:40 am that is the story OPB reporter gave, that not everyone had been heard at the hearing that signed up to speak so another one would be scheduled.
