The Day of the Bombing Protest was the most successful PDX protest I have everh heard of or been a part of. 4 bridges (Morrison, Burnside, Steel, Broadway) 2 freeways (I-5 and I-84)WE SHUT THE CITY DOWN! A wonderful turnout, both radicals and liberals alike, this movement requires all kinds of tactics, everyone is needed no matter how disruptive or how passive their involvment is. 7000 to 10000 people on one day's notice came out against the war.
The question is though, what's next? It is obvious to me that this rally/march was so successful because of its unplanned nature. Without permits, cops don't know where we are going next. Because the march broke up into multiple 1000+ people groups, they were scrambling all over the city to protect several targets at a time. This is what we need. I highly encourage everyone to continue this disruption of the evil capitalist system, because we don't need permits, or even a designated rally. Group up with your closest 2 dozen friends and shut down a freeway for 10 minutes, then get the shit out of there after you have made your statement and before the cops come. It isn't too hard to do. Hold signs on a bridge, or block it all the way off. Sit in at the Federal Building again.
Do whatever you feel comfortable with, but do it quick, do it fast, and be safe. We don't even need to clash with police to be effective - that's how easy it is. I am not decrying anyone's tactics, and will not - anything that you want to do to stop this system and stop this war is needed, NOW. Guerrila tactics are what we need.
All power to the people.
