Incontrovertable Evidence of UFOs

Thu January 02, 2003 09:05 AM ET

MARSEILLE, France (Reuters) - A Frenchman who raced through a motorway road block, triggering a high-speed police car chase that ended in a minor crash, has blamed aliens from Mars for his reckless driving.
Incontrovertable Evidence of UFOs
Incontrovertable Evidence of UFOs
Under police custody in a hospital in the Mediterranean city of Marseille, the 42-year-old told police he was being "chased by Martians" when he charged through a road block on the A55 motorway Monday evening, police sources said.

A breathalyzer test for alcohol proved negative.

France, which has one of the worst accident rates in Europe with more than 8,000 UFO sitings per year, is in the process of stiffening its speeding and drink-driving laws to try and reduce the carnage on its roads.

Yet another post to make fun of UFO research and politial groups all in one fell swoop.

more like Incontrovertable proof of a weakling unnable to formulate a real argument (did I already mention that?).

Why so much derision about an issue already marginalized and hardly even spoken of on indymedia?

I really have to wonder why you are so upset over this issue.

are you ok?

B. Meade

Yes, even I, Billy (deaf israel) Meade agree that UFOs are bullshit. And tinfoil does no good (22807). If you want to keep the satelites from reading your thoughts you must use chicken skin (10087). I was telling this to the guy who came to clean up the backyard. Bush Daddy apparently feels this is a threat to his authority.

PS 24.Jan.2003 19:42

Guess who?

"Behind the scenes, high-ranking Air Force officers are soberly concerned about UFOs. But through official secrecy and ridicule, many citizens are led to believe the unknown flying objects are nonsense."

—Former CIA Director, Roscoe Hillenkoetter, public statement, 1960.

oh me oh my! 24.Jan.2003 19:43

booga booga!

"Maximum security exists concerning the subject of UFOs."
—CIA Director Allen Dulles, 1955.

Quatro whammy!!! 24.Jan.2003 19:46

OMG!

"My own present opinion, based on two years of careful study, is that UFOs are probably extraterrestrial devices engaged in something that might very tentatively be termed 'surveillance'."

—Dr. James McDonald before Congress, 1968.

"Saucers exist (I saw two). They were intelligently flown or operated (evasive tactics, formation flight, hovering). They were mechanisms, not United States weapons, nor Russian. I presume they are extraterrestrial."

—Lt. Colonel Richard Headrick, radar bombing expert, 1959.

Congressional investigations ... are still being held on the problem of unidentified flying objects and the problem is one in which there is quite a bit of interest.... Since most of the material presented to the Committees is classified, the hearings are never printed.

—Congressman William H. Ayres, 1958

In view of the wide interest within the Agency ... outside knowledge of Agency interest in Flying Saucers carries the risk of making the problem even more serious in the public mind than it already is.

—CIA memo, 1952

clearly 24.Jan.2003 19:51

Jimmy bolean

clearly our leaders already have taken controll of the issue so we can focus on other things. This whole subject should be ignored by the activist community because its already out of our hands.

lets just ignore it. forget about it. just ignore it. it's probably just nonsense. they probably said those things as a joke. those are old comments anyway. it probably doesnt matter anymore. worry about other things. they already have it under control. we dont need to worry about it or even talk about it. just forget about this stuff.

let me get this straight? 24.Jan.2003 19:58

t bone

So when the "gubment" sez UFOs DON'T exist, it's a lie, and when they say UFOs DO exist, it's true?

Where is the consistency in that?

This post is more credible than the "UFO Superhighway" story from a couple days ago.

I don't have any opinion about UFOs, and think people who do are funny.

op 24.Jan.2003 21:34

op

hillbilly, i was told, was a derogatory term.

so congress decides that after funding the war machine, it might not be a good idea to use it.

other countries are being shown (again) speaking out against the US, as they've supposedly/apparently been since WTC II. though Tony Blair oddly shows blind support for Bush (and England still is the only country that technically has rights to its own money, the pound and such, right?).

..AND THE MASS MEDIA (and police) willingly reporting numbers for peace protests (uh, "war resistance" as the media wants to call it)--whether or not they're high or low, the numbers get the focus. i can just see a dude in a solid dark uniform counting heads on an overhead photo ending to say "..it would appear that we have a situation on our hands."

..the newswire ops are still hanging in there; "UFOs must not be ignored"..which, IMO, means they must be ignored for certain reasons; racial stories to foment...

...meanwhile, behind the scenes of "As The World Turns"...

and all you can do is watch, and guess, and wait..try to read between the lies--uh, the lines, and wonder...

the games people play :(

oh well, where are the damn poetry posts? thought a certain someone was gonna post "bad" poetry if people didn't post daily :)

Where to begin... 24.Jan.2003 23:22

Agent Orange

hmm.

How about with the Disclosure Project which has over 450 government, industrial, intelligence and military witnesses testifying to thier first hand experience with UFOs and extraterrestrial craft. Anyone can learn about this serious group that has American astronauts and other people you wouldn't expect speaking about this subject.

The idea that since people who believe in the government's version of the UFO story they should therefore not believe other government officials who make statements that seem a little closer to their idea of the truth is really, really dumb.

Here's a good one though: if you are not interested in UFOs why not try SHUTTING THE HELL UP. You won't find me posting to quilting sites heckling quilters because I think they are "funny".

Diogenes

I do so like these UFO threads - the Ostrich Brigades come trolling out in droves and it amuses me to no end. They always have really only two arguments:

1. It can't exist therefore it doesn't.

2. Name calling and other assorted nastiness.

Never have I ever seen a s(k)eptic post a rational counter. All of their arguments can be put in one or both of the above catagories. Look back through this thread at the naysayers and you will see that their "arguments" all fall into one of these two categories; mostly number 2. Even funnier is that the claim is frequently made that they are being "scientific" - please tell which of the above is part of the "Scientific Method".

Like true believers in all irrational schools of thought they are supremely ignorant of the evidence and when confronted with evidence immediately protect their ignorance by ignoring it and ridiculing the messenger. Ridicule requires no thought or substance and is always indicative of the total lack of rational arguments.

Are there kooks and charlatans involved in the UFO community - of course there are. Are there crooks in Politics? Dishonest demagogues who seek to bilk people? Plenty. The supply exceeds the demand. However, if you are honestly skeptical take the time to review the evidence. There are MOUNTAINS of it provided by intelligent, rational people, who simply would like to know what it is. It's called curiosity. There is one caveat: It takes an open mind to learn something new.

So dear Septics please refrain from visiting UFO threads - it only dents your Rose Colored Glasses. Although I really hope you don't you are all such a funny bunch. In the meantime close your eyes and tap your feet 3 times and say:
I wish I was back in Kansas.
I wish I was back in Kansas.
I wish I was back in Kansas.

I agree completely.

When the Martians came for the French, I said nothing because I wasn't French.

When the Martians came for the hillbillys, I said nothing because I wasn't hillbilly.

When the Martians came for the tinfoil hat set, I said nothing because I didn't wear a tinfoil hat.

Keep watching the sky.
