Mike D. Released from Displinary Segregation (or whatever it was)

Mike D. was released from Displinary Segregation in jail last weekend on Jan.4th. He was put in Displinary because of a clothing/health issue. 70 some prisoners were told to undress to nothing but a blanket and stand in a line to get new clothes. Mike had a problem with putting a blanket on his skin. He said it is a health hazard and anything could be on those blankets, including infectious diseases. He says that the staff does not wash the blankets frequently and they don't wash them between prisoners either. Mike D is currently in the Justice Center jail downtown for not calling his probation officer every day. This is from being arrested at a Genoa Italy Solidarity Protest, I think some time last year. He is scheduled to be released from the Justice Center downtown on Feb.28th, hopefully sooner. Keep updated on Mike by calling Cascadia Forest Alliance @ 241-4879 or keep checking IndyMedia.
Resisting Arrest? 09.Jan.2003 16:13

Why is it when I have called the jail several different times to check on him I'm repeatedly told that he is in for resisting arrest? When I question them about this charge they cannot come up with specifics. A good example of our finest at their finest.

Too much of a threat 12.Jan.2003 12:31

It seems to me that Mike D is always in jail for one reason or another, and none of the reasons seem to be good ones. Mike D is a man I have been talking with off and on for about 5 years now. He is a great man, and I seriously believe the system considers his intelligence and dedication a threat to the status quo. He needs all the support he can get.
