FBI offer reward for Tre Arrow

Apparently Jake Sherman did'nt spill enough beans: The FBI is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading directly to Tre Arrow's arrest.
Local activist Tre Arrow, wanted alleged involvement in an arson which occurred at the Schoppert logging company in Eagle Creek, Oregon, on June 1, 2001, has been added to the FBI's "Most Wanted List. He remains at large.

Arrow is a longtime environmental activist with an extensive history of involvement in peaceful protests and anti-logging tree sits, including the successful campaign to cancel the Eagle Creek Timber Sale.

Community support for Tre remains strong, The Speaking Truth To Power Defense Fund (www.griffinsforge.com/truth2power  truth2power@griffinsforge.com) was established in the wake the indictments against Tre to defray the legal expenses of citizens targeted for voicing dissent. In light of recent events they are focusing their efforts on the Shoppert case and Tre's defense. A benefit dinner and concert featuring gormet vegan foos and music by Danny Dolinger and Vivian Section is planned for Jan 9th at the Multnomah Friends Meeting Hall, tickets available at Laughing Horse and Mirador Community Store

legal scenario 18.Dec.2002 18:00

mainstream media sucks

I hope who ever might be in touch with Tre realizes that the news reports always report the highest possible sentences he could face, not what's realistically going to be a plea bargain if in fact he can be linked to the alleged crimes. IE....they might say he faces a combined sentence of 20 yrs for arson, when in reality, he could walk with some sort of plea bargain between 1-10 years. Discussions with seasoned attornies would greatly assist in assessing what the reality is for this scenario. Now the pigs are going to say, no way, no plea bargain for this, but the reality is that the DA and the game that's played is to get plea bargains and settle before it gets to trial. food for thought....

green hornet

Um hold on, we've seen free and critter get disgracefully long sentences for the "terrorist" crime of um, vandalism? Don't believe the hype; The pigs, the courts, the whole of industrial society would love to drag everyone thats not down with them to their gulags. I hope they never find Tre Arrow and I hope that all earth rapers can't sleep at night because of it. All strong people have a moral duty to not let the pigs get their claws into any revolutionary. The f.b.i must think that motherfuckas in portland are sell outs: Keep your fuckin' blood money! We need nothing that you have to offer us. So run back to DC and tell your masters that you have no more jurasdiction over us or the whole of the NW. Stay strong Tre. Stay Forever Free!

Heres the thing 18.Dec.2002 21:28

Gaia

Heres how it is: there is little chance, even with things as they stand ~which are far from ideal~ that Tre would be sentenced to even a fraction of what has been quoted in the corperate media. Rod Coranado, in a very similar case, got less than 5 years. That said, we all know that Tre should not spend one second in jail.

Happily, Jake Sherman would seem to be the only rat on this ship, community support for Tre remains strong ~far stronger, I would wager, than the feds could ever imagine. Tre has one advantage that Critter and Free did not have, the groundwork for his future defense, should he need it, is being laid NOW, his friends and supporters have closed ranks around him, refusing to provide information, be it to the FBI or Rolling Stone, and his network of support in growing.

There has never been a more frightening or more important time to be an activist, especially with bountys being put on our heads, and people like Sherman willing to bite. However this is a fight we can win.

A Clue! 19.Dec.2002 00:02

'Special' Agent-in-Charge, Timmy

This just in from the FBI!

Tre Arrow 'frequently does not wear shoes'!

Be on the lookout for anyone fitting this description and be sure to contact your nearest mailman or electric meter reader if you should encounter anyone without shoes!

End transmission...

I seen 'em! 19.Dec.2002 11:16

I may already BE Tre Arrow

Wow, activist with back pack, guitar and no shoes ~hey I think I've seen that dude ~wait a minute I may BE that dude!

Damn I just looked and theres about a dozen other dudes here that also look like me. I wonder: if we ALL called in, 'spose the FBI could figure out wich one of us is Tre?

Something to Consider 21.Dec.2002 20:37

A q

If Tre is innocent why is he running?

If the truth is on his side then he has nothing to fear.

If the truth is on his side and still he hides, then he doesn't believe in the truth.

If he doesn't believe in the truth, what does he believe in?

Something ELSE To Consider 22.Dec.2002 11:03

spaz

This Dick "Q" is trying to use the same lame argument that if the authorities are after you, you must have done something wrong. There is plenty of support for his view in the corporate owned media that the genocide of the natives, the slavery of africans and their subsequent lynchings after they were "freed", the theft of the entire southwest from Mexico, the war on drugs that randomly incarcerates hundreds of thousands for extremely long sentences after the cia and other government thugs are heavily involved in the drug trade themselves, that all of these are not really true and all of the victems of these atrocities are somehow responsible themselves for the authorities jumping them like back alley muggers and destroying their lives. Luckily, this is indymedia and "Q"can be dismissed for the disinfo drone, boot-licking coward that he is.

Tre Arrow a good Human Being 22.Dec.2002 11:21

Cort Greene

Having Known Tre for only a short time,I could still tell that he was a good Human Being!!!I might not have agreed with all of his tactics but in the long run,he just wanted to save the earth. Some of his detractors(Anarchists and Liberals)were just naysyayers from the get go..Some people talk a good ballgame others do.
