DATE: WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 18TH TIME: 7:00 PM
LOCATION: CASCADIA FOREST ALLIANCE 1540 SE CLINTON
IF TAKING BUS, USE ROUTE #4, GET OFF AT SE 16TH AND WALK TWO BLOCKS SOUTH

Come help craft patchwork quilts and/or drop off supplies (listed below)
a warm blanket on a wintery night,
made by loving hands,
weaves a bit of magick into our sleep

and so with this idea in mind
you are invited to share in the creation of
some patchwork quilts

i've never made one before and i found an
idea on the internet i would like to try

the 99 square quilt
making patches from used cloth that are 8" x 8"
people can sew felt designs on their patch
and some patches can simply be plain cloth
or you might even have a patch you want to sew
onto the 8" x 8" patch...anything goes

9 columns of 11 squares each are sewn
and each of those columns are sewn together

the next step is to take a used sleeping bag
or blanket and sew the patchwork onto it

voila! a recycled blanket becomes a masterpiece

the quilts can be used as fundraisers
or gifted somewhere - possible idea is Dignity Village

if you have extra needles, felt, used cloth and/or
old sleeping bag or comforter feel FREE to bring them
beginner sewing people totally welcome

in case your schedule is overwhelming
you can also come for supplies to make your patches and
drop them off when you're done

to be on the quilt collective email list
drop a note to  treezawalking@freegeek.org
and put QUILT in the subject line
