December 11

Senator Graham: It will become public at some point when it's turned over to the archives, but that's 20 or 30 years from now. And, we need to have this information now because it's relevant to the threat that the people of the United States are facing today.
So, the Senate Intelligence Committee finishes its report on December 11, and its chairman Senator Bob Graham gives an interview where he states his surprise that "foreign governments" were involved in the September 11 attacks, and not only financially. Graham goes on to assert that the details on what foreign countries these are, will not be made public untill after 20, maybe 30 years.

Then, stating "personal business reasons", Vice-Chairman of the new "independent" National Commission on Terrorist Attacks, led by Henry Kissinger, Mr George Mitchell, declares his resignation from the Commission post that very same day, on December 11.

Two days later, on December 13, the man himself, the accused war criminal and Bush's choice as Chairman of the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks, Mr Henry Kissinger, also resigns. Again, the reasons given are "personal business interests".

I wonder what countries these are, that Senator Graham now knows about, and how he is supposed to keep his mouth shut for so long about this. And I wonder if the findings of Graham's commission may in some way have triggered the resignation of both Chairman Kissinger and Vice-Chairman Mitchell. What countries do these men do business with? And how can their personal business interests be more important than the national security of America?

What also puzzles me, is the "20 or 30 years" thingy. When Afghanistan was a suspect, there was 20 or 30 days before bombs were falling. And with Iraq, well it isn't even a suspect, still America's "revenge" will soon fall down hard on them as well. So if Graham's "foreign governments" were one of those two unfortunate countries, my guess is it wouldn't take 20 or 30 years for that info to be made public.

From  http://www.pbs.org/newshour/bb/congress/july-dec02/intelligence_12-11.html :

GWEN IFILL: Do you think that will ever become public, which countries you're talking about?

SEN. BOB GRAHAM: It will become public at some point when it's turned over to the archives, but that's 20 or 30 years from now. And, we need to have this information now because it's relevant to the threat that the people of the United States are facing today.

Now, does anyone have a guess which countries?
my only surprise 15.Dec.2002 21:55

mr surprised

I'm just surprised he didn't find the US gov't to be involved!!! But what gov't has something to gain from the attacks? After 9/11 and the US economy tanking, China got into the WTO. Possible they knew they'd be admitted in an effort to bring back the economy? I just dunno'. Time will tell. Wink...

Sen. Graham had breakfast with 911 moneyman 16.Dec.2002 05:58

anon

'On the morning of September 11, Pakistan's Chief Spy General Mahmoud Ahmad, the alleged "money-man" behind the 9-11 hijackers, was at a breakfast meeting on Capitol Hill hosted by Senator Bob Graham and Rep. Porter Goss, the chairmen of the Senate and House Intelligence committees.
"When the news [of the attacks on the World Trade Center] came, the two Florida lawmakers who lead the House and Senate intelligence committees were having breakfast with the head of the Pakistani intelligence service. Rep. Porter Goss, R-Sanibel, Sen. Bob Graham and other members of the House Intelligence Committee were talking about terrorism issues with the Pakistani official when a member of Goss' staff handed a note to Goss, who handed it to Graham. "We were talking about terrorism, specifically terrorism generated from Afghanistan," Graham said.'

"We know that there were several warnings that were given prior to the events of September 11th. People were calling in to the CIA and to the FBI, and they were giving information that was critical. There was adequate warning. But instead of requesting that Congress investigate what went wrong and why, we had President Bush place a phone call to Majority Leader Senator Tom Daschle, asking him not to investigate."(Rep. Cynthia McKinney (D), Georgia, 12 April 2002)

Cui Bono? The American Government Did 9-11 16.Dec.2002 20:11

The only governments that have benefited are obviously America and to a lesser extent Israel. America first and foremost in that 9-11 has given it the pretext it needs to implant its military bases on former Soviet territories in Central Asia (which it could have never done pre-911). It has enabled America to complete the military encirclement of both RUSSIA *and* CHINA from the Caucauses, Central Asia, S.E. Asia--of which have increased an US military presence thanks to....9-11 and the phony "War on Terror." In Central Asia in particular, the USA wants to dominante Caspian Energy Reserves of course as well as control a key geo-strategic region that is crucial to dominating the Eurasian landmass itself (see Z. Brzezkinski's "The Grand Chessboard").

There are numerous other ways that America has benefitted such as the excuse to ramp up its military spending to Cold War levels. Its use of the so-called War on Terror to advance *pre-existing but unactivated* foreign policy plans based upon aggressive militarism and Empire building (aka. the Project for a New American Century, Bush Doctrine, and National Security Strategy). Its implementation of a Fascist Police state through the Department of Homeland Security and Patriot Act in order to counter growing dissent and political mobilization against capitalist globalization among other things. Its domestic benefits to the Bush Regime are also obvious in giving a Patriotic and nationalist boon to one widely perceived as illegitimate and increasingly unpopular Before 9-11. AS Bush himself explained after 9-11, he "hit the trifecta."

AS for China and the WTO thing. This is bullshit and shows very little understanding of how WTO accession actually works. China was essentially approved for the WTO before 9-11 when the US Congress agreed to grant permanent Most Favored Nation status to it--a requirement which is specifically mandated by the terms of the WTO induction process for all nations. Its formal acession to the WTO *after* 9-11 was a mere technicality.

When Bob Graham runs his mouth about "foreign governments" being involved, this is pure disinformation, a desperate attempt to throw a red herring out to distract suspicion and attention from the one nation which has undeniably benefitted and profited from 9-11 like no other: the USA.

At most, I suspect there were elements of the Saudi Arabian and Pakistani intelligence apparatus which were involved, but primarily as cut-outs for American (and Israeli) controlled operations.

countries involved with 9/11 17.Dec.2002 15:21

Harry Schneider ltuyyz@hotmail.com

what is the reason for keeping secret the countries involved in 9/11 ? If we are good enough to pay taxes for so called security and are good enough to die in a future war, we are also good enough to know the truth ! Those countries could not be arab ones as that would have generated extra propagand how about another non arab country in the middle east ?
