EUROPEAN MILITARY SOURCE: SNIPER ATTACKS LOOK LIKE GOV'T SPECIAL OPS

WIESBADEN, Oct.10 (EIRNA)
According to military source with experience in Vietnam, the recent sniper killings in the Washington area look like the work of a military "special operation" involving no less than two or three profesional snipers.
This source pointed to the timing, location and the fact that all the shooters got away without leaving a trace. He gave the example of the shootings of October 3, when no less than 4 people were killed within 2 hours. He pointed out that although they were all killed in the same general geographical area, they were too far from one another for one shooter. He estimated that three shooters would be involved. The skill in these cases is not that they killed their targets, but did it without exposing their positions, as a trained sniper would, and then got away without leaving a trace. This type of operation could not be done from a moving vehicle, because the chances of hitting the target are very low. Therefore, the fact that no one saw where the shooting came from would indicate that the shooter was in a fixed position waiting for an opportunity to shoot without giving away his position. This also would facilitate the fact that they were able to leave the scene totally undetected. If we are talking about trained sniper teams, we are talking about at least 10 people. One commander, three shooters and the others involved in the exit and or "clean up" if something goes wrong.

The source felt that this was only the beginning of the operation and eventually they would start hitting targets in Washington. The targets could then become less "random" and start targeting government employees and politicians.

WIESBADEN, Oct. 10 (EIRNS)--"SPECIAL OPS"/SECRET AGENT-AUTHORED MODELLED ON HOLLYWOOD FILMS AND/OR COMPUTER GAMES

Such are possibly what is involved, in the rash of sniper killings in Maryland and Virginia, and this can be exploited, to create the kind of climate required for the launching of the new war against Iraq, a leading British social psychologist commented to EIR today.

"I think there is mileage to be gained, in looking at what is happening, as a `special ops'-type of thing. Remember, a whole generation has been brought up on films and/or video games, with this kind of scenario. My point is, such a scenario, of shooting down people at petrol stations and so on, would make a great video game. I have, sometimes, myself seen films along these lines. It would make absolute sense to me, that special ops-type people, secret agents of one sort or another, would now be acting according to a Hollywood-style script, authored from within such circles, possibly to accomplish certain political aims."

He went on: "What worries me is, if this evolves as it appears to be evolving, is that the climate becomes such, where the word becomes that `the President is justified', in warning that there is a great threat level to the American population. It is an easy, if irrational step, to go from `this is happening', to what could loosely be called a `Bin Laden' angle of some sort.

The President would no longer seem paranoid, the threat, at home, would seem very real. Of course, I have no proof of this, but the pattern, and its potential manipulation, is ominous."

PSYOP quote 12.Oct.2002 10:23

anon

PSYOP quote: "Bring about uprisings or shootings, which will cause the death of one or more persons, who would become the martyrs ... in order to create greater conflicts."

In "Body of Secrets," respected journalist James Bradford explores official government records in which the Pentagon "called for innocent people to be shot on American streets, for boats ... to be sunk on the high seas, for a wave of violent terrorism to be launched in Washington D.C., Miami and elsewhere," for "people to be framed for bombings they did not commit" and for planes to be hijacked, all in the name of convincing Congress and the American public to support a new war.

Delusional Europeans 12.Oct.2002 10:48

Wally

OK, before I really get rolling here, let me thank all of our European conspiracy theorists for their plunge into the realm of stupidity. But hey, that's Europeans for you....

First, let me explain how easy it would be to commit this type of act without any military training. 5.56 mm assault and hunting rifles are readily available for sale in almost every state...if not all of them. We can argue later about a ballistics database before sale, but lets not split hairs. An avid hunter is easily able to make shots at ranges of 600 meters to the head of a stationary target. This of course includes the use of a properly calibrated high power scope or optic sight. With moving targets, this range drops to about 400 m. So, basically any hunter who trains and hunts on a regular basis, and who is knowledgable about calibrating a scope or optic sight would be easily capable of making these shots. Then throw in the any number of Islamic fundamentalists inthis country who have had actual training on high powered weapons, and you have a huge pool of possible suspects to choose from.

Locations. All of these murders have occurred near major thoroughfares in the VA, MD and DC areas. Even an utter moron would have enough common sense to make sure he has an easily accessable getaway route unless he WANTS to be caught.

Vehicle sightings. A white Astro van? If you only knew how many Astro and other minivans were stolen in the DC area each month....

Military connection? Highly doubtful. I am an ex-marine. Everyone I know or knew in the military would be utterly against killing the citizens that he or she has sworn to defend. Contrary to what it seems most people on this sight think, the vast majority of military folk are as honest, hardworking, and sensitive to human life as any of you are. To think any less is degrading to men and women in uniform everywhere.

My opinion is that this murderer is one of the following. 1. A white male who has gone completely loony and who is/was an avid hunter or was formerly in a combat arms branch of some country's military. 2. An Islamic fundamentalist who is sowing terror by killing people doing everyday things, specifying no race or gender of preference for his or her killings, and who is formerly trained in this or some other country's military or in a terrorist training camp somewhere.

But, I guess that until this murderer is caught or killed we won't know. It is irrisponsible for our suppossed "friends" in Europe to speculate on the culpability of our military in the press.

MODERATORS: Garbage bin please? 12.Oct.2002 11:07

Please garbage-bin this post.

Not delusional 12.Oct.2002 12:01

Ken Aldrich aldri7@earthlink.net

I don't think the european is delusional. I myself had many of the same thoughts as he did after hearing of the latest sniper attack. This has gone too far, and no one has been caught.

Of course, the vast majority of those in the US military are decent , hard working people. But there are also guys who live on the fringes, who may have once been in the military and still have contacts there and who now don't fit in too well with the rest of us. Angry guys who will volunteer to do anything. We live in a world that is going mad. The sniper case reminds me a little of the anthrax attacks last year. I am suspicious of absolutely everything because I believe that the shadow government will resort to any tactics including mass murder to acheive its objectives.

No garbage bin 12.Oct.2002 12:24

Hoss

This is a good post, it might be tongue in cheek but not impossible. It does not use degrading language and is presented in an intelligent mannner. Now if we started getting ten or fifteen of these a day it might be different.

eh 12.Oct.2002 12:32

twilight youth

I dont think it is unreasonable to suspect that the man is an ex-military type specializing or even an layman in the skills of sniper rifle. I doubt that this is a ploy to keep peoples attention away from the Iraq fiasco, I think that is quite a stretch.

the Iraq war as ploy to distract people is a different story alltogether.

Moderators? 12.Oct.2002 12:36

Doug

This is what has come of your experiment in dealing with trolls. Now you have to deal with posters whining to "garbage bin this post." How does it feel to be in charge? Does it give you a thrill? Is it disgusting? I hope the latter, and I hope you abandon this ill-thought-out experiment.

'An avid hunter is easily able to make shots at ranges of 600 meters to the head of a stationary target'

==>avid or "skilled"?

'f you only knew how many Astro and other minivans were stolen in the DC area each month...'

==>it would appear that nobody steals V-6 family vans that much, though such vehicles have sold well, judging by the number of them that i've seen over the years living in the D.C-Maryland area. the Chevy Astro had a nice enough design (some would call it "classic" in utilitarian terms) but that side door had some problems with weak hinging. the Safari was the high-priced version of the Astro--i think it had nicer cupholders or something.

D.C./Maryland/Virginia relevant stats
http://www.co.mo.md.us/services/police/auto-theft/facts.htm (i don't know if all "facts" posted here at this site--or any govt/law enforcement site for that matter--can be trusted so take 'em at face value
some Illinois stats
 http://www.lincolnnet.net/users/lr1065k/TPPD/pages/monthpgs/stolen.htm
a white chevy astro is a pretty 'generic' thing to drive around--who is supposedly sniping these people, a house painter? at least they're driving an "american" car *wink*. a sniper wouldn't be drivin' no foreign car, would they? i've haven't heard the details of this case but i'm going to say that the van didn't have rear cab windows, right or wrong? maybe it's a "clean" van, not a lot of dents and stuff. maybe the van belongs to an 'organization' which generally only purchases and utilized american-made vehicles, you know, cuz they want to come off as being patrioted and stuff.
'Contrary to what it seems most people on this sight think, the vast majority of military folk are as honest, hardworking, and sensitive to human life as any of you are. To think any less is degrading to men and women in uniform everywhere.'

==>actually, i read a govt publication (damn, i don't have access to it now, can't get publication info, but i'll try) in the library the other day that was talking about women's rights issues and it mentioned that the DoD (department of defense) conducted a study and found that a large number of domestic abusers were military males and/or enlisted in the military. i just thought "i figured as much"..not to speak ill of our men & women in the services, but it would seem that it takes a special kind of person to train for the wielding of a ballistic implement that is used to primarily be used for murdering enemy combatants...

' My opinion is that this murderer is one of the following. 1. A white male who has gone completely loony and who is/was an avid hunter or was formerly in a combat arms branch of some country's military. 2. An Islamic fundamentalist who is sowing terror by killing people doing everyday things, specifying no race or gender of preference for his or her killings, and who is formerly trained in this or some other country's military or in a terrorist training camp somewhere'

==>and since "the average american citizen-patriot" *KNOWS* that 'white' people are, for the most part, innocent, it would have to have been the 2nd choice. or maybe--RED HERRING DID IT!! (a pup named scooby doo is one of my favorite cartoons).

'I guess that until this murderer is caught or killed we won't know.'

==>i'm guessing--and i'm going out on a limb here--that the person(s) responsible for the murders knows who the murderer(s) is/are...maybe (it's possible that certain persons are being 'mind-controlled' and forced to carry out such deviant acts).

i was talking to someone last night thinking about how all of these news stories are popping up at the same time such vital legislation is being railroaded through the US congress of which the mass media is not reporting about such issues which have a greater effect on the population as a whole, more so than one 'lone gun nut' who can only kill a certain number of people at one moment (unless somehow psy-ops are hoping for a 'copycat' effect to kick in).

i immediately thought about the ludicrous story about a college student allegedly taking time out to leave mailbox bombs in the midwest, intending to make a "smiley face" on this part of the continental US. there was more info *revealed* about this guys motives in a couple of days than about the lifetime conduct of John Wayne Gacy.

and now there's the tarot card :) and Charles Moose a.k.a. Forrest Whitaker is in line for an Oscar (or Emmy i suppose--i don't even like Forrest Whitaker as an actor), crying on television--oh the drama, oh the humanity *laugh*. let me guess, they're going to figure out that the same parties responsible for kidnapping Chandra Levy are behind the hysteria-generating (intentional?) as well?..or maybe Levy wasn't kidnapped, maybe she was just another stalker murder victim...

'"The President would no longer seem paranoid, the threat, at home, would seem very real."'

the threat is real anytime anyone gets shot, not just during times of "high inter/national alert". paranoia IMO never seemed to be the issue, i don't think the pResident was ever concerned about US citizens..oh wait, flying Air Farce One around to make it look as if the pResident is a chicken w/ its head cut off would *prove* that the pResident *in fact* had some "safety concerns" and now he wants to ensure all of our safety. i'll bet they were laughing on plane while people and rescue workers alike were dying in the air and on the ground.

thanks for the comments Wally, now let your brain get some rest ;)

A clarification 12.Oct.2002 15:16

Wally

Well, in my experience with those who hunt, avid usually equals skilled. Those that hunt regularly usually spend time at outdoor ranges honing marksmanship skills. I stoped hunting years ago, but have a few friends that still do.

Ereryone..., in response to your assertion. I think that people do recognize that white males in particular seem to be statistically more prone to this particular type of premeditated murdering. I think that you give the average joe less credit than he or she deserves. I don't see where domestic violence has a role in these shootings though.

Yes, there are some ex military personnel that probably be into doing something like this, but there are probably people from all walks of life that have enough skill to use a high powered rifle in this manner....some of them are also probably sick enough in the head to do this as well.

I currently maintain a residence in the DC area and have many friends in law enforcement. Minivans are frequently stolen by people intending to use them in future crimes because of their "generic" nature. They blend in well in traffic. Almost no one notices them.

Oh, and Everyone.... some of the things that you quoted did not in fact come from my post. I would appreciate it if you did not attribute them to me. I sincerely hope that the police do catch this killer, and that the killer is just a nutcase. Our relations with our Arab friends will not stand much more blameless accusation. But, until the police actually learn how to do countersniper work well, or get lucky, we will just have to wait it out.

Ooops 12.Oct.2002 15:18

The last part of the previous post was not an attack on you Everyone.... ;-)

We are preparing the spin if he/she is.

not all of us are anti-gun as you may believe. I certainly wont let it get spun.

Look to the source 13.Oct.2002 22:24

Not a journalist

It should be pointed out that the original article/repost came from a suspect source, i.e., followers of Lyndon LaRouche.
The Executive Intelligence Reports (North America) was and is an attempt by LaRouche followers to make a bunch of money by publishing 'inside' information and selling it to businesspeople. It is a mix of salacious gossip and business tidbits, along with suspicious speculation such as the article reprinted here.
As for the article itself, who knows? The LaRouchites have no love for the Bush administration. And they are conspiracy freaks without peer.
But they are crazy as shithouse mice. So I wouldn't give their speculations that much credence. They blame Queen Elizabeth for the international drug trade.
