Stumping for 4 revolutionary, progressive initiatives & Free Breakfast

On Saturday, October 12 from 9 AM to Noon activists and volunteers of Measures 23, 25, and 27 AND volunteers from the PUD initiative will join forces to leaflet the neighborhoods of Portland. (Summaries of each measure follows). The event is sponsored by the Multnomah county chapter of the Pacific Green Party and will be held at their headquarters, 3534 SE Main.

We will meet at SE Uplift Pacific Green headquarters, eat some breakfast, pickup campaign materials of each Ballot measure, and head out into the neighborhoods to leaflet.

A free breakfast will be served for those willing to help.

Each of these measures has many volunteers but little money. We will not be able to spend advertising money on corporate media. Media opposition to these measures is fully funded by corporate interests. We are asking people to join us in this last big push to educate the public before the November 5th election.

Voter material will be sent out next week from the state elections division. NOW is the time to act!

Please Join us in helping to pass Measures 23 (Healthcare for all Oregon), Measure 25 (raises minimum wage to $6.90 in 2003), Measure 27(Label GMO Foods).

Dictionary

The initiatives you are stumping for are not revolutionary. Revolution is when the people overturn the current social order, resulting in a regime change. What you are stumping for are reforms that would slightly modify the current social order.
