Unequal Protection:The Rise of Corporate Dominance and the Theft of Human Rights

Unequal Protection: The Rise of Corporate Dominance and the Theft of Human Rights
Thom Hartmann will be presenting October 2 at Annie Blooms at 730p and Oct 7th at Liberty Hall at 7p.

There is a single power that the world's largest corporations wield that has allowed them to destroy our environment, seize control of our electoral process, steal our commons, and to overwhelm small companies in a way that once led the Founders of this nation to revolt. That single power is the doctrine that corporations are persons, and that they should therefore have rights under the Bill of Rights. Thom Hartmann's new book documents how and when corporations stole (yes, it wasn't given them - they stole it) for themselves protections designed solely for human beings in the Bill of Rights and the Constitution. With this power, they are now remaking the planet, and seizing direct control over the majority of politicians and governments worldwide. And there is something we can do about it!

Thom Hartmann is author of "Unequal Protection: The Rise of Corporate Dominance and the Theft of Human Rights," a 2002 release from Rodale and St. Martin's Press.
