LOGGING UNDERWAY AT PEAK TIMBER SALE!!

Trees are falling at the Peak timber sale in the Rogue River National Forest outside of Prospect, Oregon. Forest defenders continue to occupy platforms high in the canopy in defience of closure.
Early monday morning, the Forest Service announced a closure on the Peak timber sale area. Minutes later, loggers began felling trees in an area near tree- sitters defending the forest.

Mazama Forest Defenders announced a second tree-sit this morning. It is unclear at the moment if the Forest Service is working to protect the safety of the tree-sitters. Chainsaws are running, trees are falling. This is all we know at this time.
