I have not read the site much, but have heard some people talk positively of it. If their coverage of the A22 Bush protest is any indication of the website, I will not be going there expecting to find honest coverage of events. They support corporate media and are reposting the corporate media lies regarding the Bush protest.
Common Dreams claims to support the progressive community, however it MOST CERTAINLY DOES NOT SUPPORT the people who were attacked and pepper sprayed in Portland, nor the issues that they were out there for.
Write to the editor and ask what is up you say? I did write to the editor regarding the blatantly false AP article they posted (the only article at all at that time) but received no reply to a reasonably worded email sent 10 days ago. Their only reply of sorts, was to post another article about A22, from the Oregonian.
The site is named Common Dreams - Common to who? looks like just another elitist, leftist corporate media propaganda site to me.
Only truly independent community media like indymedia is going to tell the true stories of struggle that are taking place to oppose the rise of fascism in this country.

Yeah, it was the AP story... BUT they have a window with links to Portland Indymedia's coverage. This shows that they concider Indymedia to be an important ally.
If you marginalize everyone who dooesn't tell the story exactly how you want it portrayed, then you will eventualy find yourself alone with no allies.
