Bill to save roadless areas introduced into the Senate

At a time when the forests face renewed threats from lawless logging, it is important that we also keep working for what the forests need and what the public wants. For thirty years activists have been struggling to protect the remaining roadless lands on the National Forests -- and with these sensitive areas more at risk than ever -- that struggle goes on.

 http://www.congress.org or at their
district offices in your state over the August

If your Representative is not yet one of the 178

Good stuff. There is a wonderful campaign happening in Oregon called the Oregon Wild Campaign. It proposes to save roadless areas 1,000 acres and larger. These people work really hard tabling and postcarding for the cause, so show your support to them too! Go to the ONRC's (Oregon Natural Resources Council) website ( http://www.onrc.org) and offer to help, or ask your company to endorse this righteous organization. The web site is full of good info and links. This is an important time to implement these plans and reach out to people who may not know the facts about the Forest (dis)Service, and all their shady doings. Get out there and DO SOMETHING!
