Even in the progressive community dealing with the long standing myths, and false beliefs regarding adult/teenage/child sexuality can be challenging.
Therefore, I am happy to announce that salon.com has entered the discussion with some constructive insights.
The July 22 article, is entitled, "Minor report" "Sex between teenage boys and older men is not always coercive --and it can be more ecstatic than traumatic. " It's written by David Tuller and for any progressive thinker is is well worth reading.
The article is broken down into three headings:
1. Sexual relations between people are messy, chaotic and fraught with ambiguity
2. "It was clear that it certainly felt good to both of us"
3. "I think boys can sail into and out of sexual experience with less psychological damage than girls"
The article looks at current research. It focuses mostly on adult/teenage sexuality. There is no name calling in the artilce. For those wishing to bring examine their myths against the findings of science it's a good article.
