Wanted to say I saw the destruction of Palestein on the tv night before last - OPB devoted 45 minutes inside the occupied land and it was
a shocker. The first part gave an account about how Israelis felt about the situation and interviewed many who wanted to wall off Palestein
and in effect create the country, in the process dismantling the settlements.
The last part detailed the destruction of the occupied land and how the Palestinians felt. The camera followed the interviewer through a road block manned by swaggering, unkempt solders (either looking seriously vapid, drunk, or inept I couldnt tell which)- and contrasts the relatively mild treatment shown to the reporter (american) to that of a Palestinian woman who was told to "leave the country" after a thorough grueling. The camera came upon scenes of unneeded destuction; a Cultural Ministry building used as a toilet and gutted, a childs playroom scrawled with grafiti and vandalized. Bank atms shot out in very precise way, restaurants burned and useless, a shopping center looted and the safe emptied.
There was an interview with several Palestinians who lived there, who said that they now felt empathy towards the suicide bombers
where none was previously ( although I wonder if this was just some more bias getting in - too bad it wasnt heard before the tape was edited ).
I had to leave before the end but it was enough.
