Would US Government officials sacrifice US citizens if it was for their benefit?
You be the judge...
The soldiers in the photo above, were so close to the atomic detonation, they had to be seated on the desert floor, or the blast and shock wave would have knocked them down. The men were not provided any protection from the heat, blast, radiation, or radioactive fallout known as "Death Dust." Seconds after the explosion, radioactive sand, rocks, and dust covered the men. Neither the Department of Defense nor the Atomic Energy Commission provided dust masks to keep the men from breathing radioactive particles. The decontamination process, was a guy with a broom sweeping the radioactive dust from the soldiers uniforms.
The forgotten Guinea Pigs, A Congressional report on the effects fallout has on downwind victims, concludes that the federal government chose to protect its atmospheric weapons testing program rather than the health and welfare of Atomic Veterans or Area Residents downwind from the Nevada Test Site.
Many fallout victims express the feeling they were used as guinea pigs. Most were never told about possible radiation hazards, or were told that there was not enough radiation to cause concern.
