Last Friday, nine of us had a rally at the Federal Building. This rally was called in response to the mainstream media stories about the Bush Administration ignoring warnings about Sept. 11.
Great coverage of the rally was featured on portland indymedia:
Two things came out of the rally:
1) a signature campaign to urge our congressional delegation to start an investigation into 9.11 ( See: http://portland.indymedia.org/front.php3?article_id=11065&group=webcast )
2) a desire for another rally, this Friday
So this is a call for another rally, this Friday, at 5:00 p.m., at the Federal Building again.
I suggest we concentrate again on The Need For A 9.11 Investigation. This is an issue that crosses left/right ideological divides. Questions about 9.11 have been coming from "the right" and "the left" for months, and from non-ideological points in between (i.e., Mike Ruppert, http://www.copvcia.com). One can be a traditionally patriotic (re., pro-war) American and still want an investigation. So, this is a topic where we can appeal to many kinds of people, and try to break up the superficial political divisions that keep us under the control of the Corporate Ruling Elite.
These are just my ideas. I also don't like political demonstrations where people are asked to move along or stand across the street because their sign is not "on message". (I've seen this before.)
