Every Sunday through the spring and summer, BARK and the Cascadia Forest Alliance are hosting hikes to timber sales in Mt. Hood and Gifford Pinchot National Forest. Come out to learn about the commercial timber sale program and ways to help protect our few remaining native forests.
Every Sunday carpoools are leaving the Daily Grind (SE 41st and Hawthorne) at 9:15 a.m. Please come prepared for a full day hike (no trail) with appropriate dress, lunch, and water.
This Sunday, April 28th, we will visit the Granite timber sale in a riparian area of the Clackamas watershed. We will focus on the cumulative effects that logging has on sensitive aquatic species.
