Below is the link to the ABC web story "You Paid For It" that aired to 5 million viewers
on ABC's Good Morning America, April 3rd, and highlighted wasteful taxpayer funded research.

Protest and leafleting against EPA¹s massive animal testing
11:30am 1:00pm (media will be there from 12:00 1:00)
Location: 1200 6th Ave, Seattle 98101 (closest cross streets: 6th and Seneca)

In a meeting this week with animal protection organizations, the EPA thumbed its nose again at a previous agreement to minimize the number of animals killed in the HPV program. EPA continued to argue for outrageous animal tests that have been proposed. EPA has totally disregarded its prior offer to consider eliminating some of these tests and has instead granted its full blessing to proceed with ludicrous tests that include -- among other things -- painfully killing 1,000 animals to retest a chemical that is already well known to be blinding and corrosive and killing fish with chemicals that are not even soluble in water!

EPAs complete lack of interest in animal suffering and in reducing animal testing could not have been made clearer than it was at this meeting. Obviously, it is only through drawing more public attention to this issue that any headway is going to be made to help spare massive animal suffering.
