9.11 investigation

Calendar Event

Mike Ruppert at the First Congregational Church - 1126 SW Park
April 12 & 13 7:30 pm
Sponsored by KBOO & Disjecta Gallery $10
Mike Ruppert made 1000 of us think pretty hard about 911 back in November with his lecture on CIA complicity in the attacks and his onslaught of documentation. Particularly newsworthy was the details of stock in United Airlines sold just before these events. For some of us, this was a wake up call. For others, it was a confirmation that our initial suspicions might not be so ridiculous.

Ruppert was a former member of the LAPD, eventually hounded out (so he says) by operatives as he tried to break the story of CIA running drugs into LA in order to destabilize the inner city and make a little money in the meantime. He cost shoe-in John Deutch his job as CIA director by breaking this story.

"This is the man who cost CIA Director Deutch his guaranteed appointment as Secretary of Defense after confronting him at Locke High School with hard facts about CIA dealing drugs." - African American Activist and Comedian Dick Gregory

Ruppert claims that former LAPD deputy chief and soon-to-be-ex Portland Police chief Mark Kroeker denied to Ted Koppel that Ruppert was ever a member of LAPD.

Ruppert's last speech was compelling enough that members of the audience at Michael Parenti's recent Portland speech were confronting him and encouraging to dig a little deeper into these issues.

$10 bucks is a lot of money, but Ruppert gives you a good solid foundation for starting your research into CIA complicity in the declining lawlessness of our Federal Corporate state. Read his website if you can't afford it... or better yet, attend a lecture, take a lot of notes, and do the fact checking yourself. We need someone to either back up Ruppert's facts, or keep him honest... because if he's right, we don't need to go any further to convince our flag-waving sisters and brothers that it was a white male conspiracy, not a brown male conspiracy, that has set this country and this world on the path to war.

Are you sure about this? 11.Apr.2002 01:26

Just an interested bystander

I am intrigued by the comment 'Ruppert claims that...Kroeker ...told Ted Koppel...that Ruppert was never a member of the LAPD.'
Seems like this 'fact' could be easily verified or not.

1. Did Ruppert say it? When?
2. Did Kroeker say it? When? If it was on Nightline or to Ted K., then it should be easily retrievable.
3. Why is it important? Shouldn't Ruppert's status as a member of the LAPD be easily verifiable? Why would Kroeker, a pretty slick piece of work, trot out such an easily disproven lie? Why would Kroeker have been talking to Teddy K. about Ruppert?

So, who has seen copies of Ruppert's LAPD graduation records? Who has seen copies of the orders dismissing him? It's pretty hard to get thrown off the police force in Portland and takes a long process. Even the guy who was dealing dope didn't get tossed immediately. Who was Ruppert's lawyer? Where was the police guild?
Could Ruppert make all this available? Or is this all on his website?

Patrick Angstrom Poore

yeah, Ruppert said that at his Nov. 28th lecture, and though I have a recording of it, i'm quoting from memory.

Kroeker's alleged denial happened after the questioning of Deutch... I saw Ruppert's testimony (he brought a video to his lecture). I don't know exactly what Kroeker said. The purpose (if it's true) would be to create a smokescreen in the short term, since there was moderate media coverage of Deutch's public hearing, and it was a pretty seminal event. (all Kroeker would really have to say is "that man is not a member of the LAPD to my knowledge")

Ruppert used to have a pretty good history on his website, which I'm sure would include his testimony at that public hearing, and the date... that would help confirm whether Kroeker was working there or not.
