Instructions on how to meditate so you can join "Buddha Not Bombs " !

A blueprint for meditation is provided here so we can all join "Buddhas Not Bombs" on Friday.
Buddhas Not Bombs is doing some great stuff in Pioneer Square on Fridays at 4:30! I encourage you all to come out and show your support. If you want to join them in meditation but have never meditated before, you can read this web site for a step-by-step guide to meditation and inner peace. This blueprint is the best explaination of meditation I have ever come across. Click "Meditation" at the bottom of  http://www.osho.com/ , the full URL is:
This site says:
"The Self-Sufficient Meditator"
"If you want to live a more fulfilled life, first you will want to know your potential, who you really are. Meditation is the route to that knowing. It is the methodology of the science of awareness.

The beauty of the inner science is that it enables whoever wants to explore and to experiment within, to do so alone. This eliminates dependence on an outer authority, the need to be affiliated with any organization and the obligation to accept a certain ideology. Once you understand the steps, you walk the walk in your own, individual way.
Many meditative techniques require one to sit still and silent. But for most of us accumulated stress in our bodymind makes that difficult. Before we can hope to access our inner powerhouse of consciousness, we need to let go of our tensions. Osho Active MeditationsTM have been scientifically designed to enable us to consciously express and experience repressed feelings and emotions, and learn the knack of watching our habitual patterns in a new way.

But what is meditation exactly?
And how to get started?
Some of the meditations have streaming audio and video demonstrations. "
Bring change through an enlightened rebellion, it is the only way to change!

I am encouraged and glad Rebel finds our protest Buddhas Not Bombs so inspiring. While the information by and about Osho (Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh) contains some wise stuff, it may be less so on more subtle levels. And while I certainly am reluctant to judge any group labelled a "cult" by the mainstream, his group located here in Oregon was controversial. I would just say, maintain a healthy skepticism about Osho.

About meditation, here are some guidelines that could be useful. Each person must find their own way in to the meditation.

*Be aware of your breath as it flows in and out of your body. Also be aware of how your body feels in the outdoor air, on the hard bricks.
*Notice discomfort, let go of the impulse to judge it as good or bad. If pain persists, move quietly and gently to prevent injury.
*Be aware of the sounds of the square. Don't try to interpret or label what they are, don't try to suppress thoughts about the sounds, or try to have thoughts about the sounds.
*Smile a small, unforced smile. As Thich Nhat Hanh said in "Being Peace": "If we turn the Buddha on, we are the Buddha. If we turn sorrow on, we are sorrow. If we turn a smile on, we really are the smile."
