Tim Eyman is on the attack again!

CNP'S RESPONSE TO TIM EYMAN'S WASHINGTON I-776 INITIATIVE
On Monday, the watch salesman from Mukilteo and Republican initiative king Tim Eyman once again goes on his crusade to destroy public transportation by submitting Washington state Initiative 776. This initiative to be put forward to the voters this November would repeal a special motor-vehicle-excise tax that would slash money for Sound Transit's light rail project and could affect other commuter services. While Sound Transit has to get it's house in order after the series of blunders and mismanagement on the part of the board among them a few politicians that will remain nameless for the time being,Tim Eyman's latest initiative assault is yet another example of the short-sighted, mean-spirited effort of the conservative right with Eyman at the helm to gut money from a much needed transportation service and give it to the few who can afford gas-guzzling, road-hogging SUVs. With this new offering and the other intiatives he has been throwing around, it would seem Mr. Eyman has a personal vendetta against the public transportation system. Eyman has no clue about what the real world is like and how hundreds of people, many of whom don't have the money for a Sport Utility Vehicle let alone a car, were affected by his last vehicle license tab cut and how many would be hurt if Initiative 776 passes. If Eyman is so serious about cutting people's taxes then why does he seem to go after cutting off money for services that people need? It would also seem that Eyman will take every opportunity to get what he and his fellow Republican sloths want which is obvious to why he rewrote I-776 to get a recall vote on Sound Transit with all it's problems due in part not by Eyman but by the incompetence of the Sound Transit board which is creating it's own undoing and giving an advantage for those right-wingers like Eyman to attack and kill off transit and other essential services. It is also worth mentioning that some of the former and current Sound Transit board members were also a party to the construction of Safeco Field and the new football stadium which strangely enough did not have the debacles that Sound Transit are having right now. This could be a classic example of one not having their priorities in check when in power. The CNP will be joining the fight to keep I-776 off the books in Olympia and we urge all of you to do the same. It is just a bad idea and will only contribute to more troubles for the people of the state of Washington.
