details of toy drive for children of PictSweet workers
PictSweet, the mushroom plant in Salem, laid off 160 workers in late November. PictSweet closed the plant rather than talk to workers about their demands for union recognition.

These men and women are organizing this toy drive as part of their support for each other and they are asking for your help. Please donate new, unwrapped toys, books, arts supplies, and sports equipment for children ages 12 and under. We also need wrapping paper and tape. Our deadline is December 19th.

If you live in the Portland, Salem, or Eugene, Oregon areas, we have drop-off sites available. Please see our website at www.pcun.org for details.

For those who find internet shopping more convenient, we have registered at www.target.com. Once at their site, choose wishlist, then type in PCUN as first name and Pictsweet as last name to find our wishlist. When prompted for a shipping address, please use
300 Young St
Woodburn, OR 97071-4818.

Another way of participating is to send a check made out to PCUN at 300 Young St., Woodburn, OR, 97071 and write that it's for the Holiday Gift Drive.

Your help in getting this message out to as many people as possible is greatly appreciated.

Please call PCUN at 503-982-0243 with any questions or information or email lanierjan@yahoo.com.
