Eugene, OR -- Students For Peace held their weekly march at the Erb Memorial Union this Friday in the cold rainy weather. 20 particpants were undeterred, and on the last day of classes, marched up and down campus shouting at anyone willing to listen.
The police presence was unsightly, as there were at least as many cops as protesters. Several police followed on bikes and, when approcahing City Hall, they seemigly multiplied from every direction. The protestors paid little attention except to laugh at their heightened fear of a small band of anti war activists.
After the march, there was a benefit party for Students for Peace and the Justice Not War Coalition at the Lorax Housing Cooperative. The packed house enjoyed the artwork of local artists (in response to the War in Afghanistan), music by Chevron, the Free Radicals, and the Courtesy Clerks, and even a cool video projection installation piece. It was cool!
