oregon steel mills is #1 in pollution in the city of portland for the 4 consecutive year.
Thursday, October 11,2001, two Portland-area environmental groups released a report which tracks Portland's largest polluters of air, water and land for the years of 1997, 1998, 1999, and 2000. The report, "US EPA Toxic Release Inventory", which included new 2000 data, finds that OREGON STEEL MILLS is Portland's biggest polluter for the fourth consecutive year.
In attendance at the Press Conference were members of Communication Workers of America, Jobs With Justice, Sisters in Action for Power, United Steelworkers of America, along with a number of concerned Portland residents.
