Ancient Forest Action Camp!

Come out to the Gifford Pinchot National Forest (near Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Adams) to prepare for the Regional Day of Action for Old Growth Forests on October 25! Meet folks from both Oregon and Washington and gain some important skills to protect our public lands. Carpools will be leaving the CFA office (SE 16th & Clinton) both on Friday Sept 21st at 5 pm & Sat Sept 22nd at 9 am.
Call 503-241-4879 get in on the rideshare. There was some initial confusion on the carpools so some also may be leaving from the Daily Grind, but being at the CFA office at 5 pm Friday (today) or 9 am Saturday is a safe bet.

Here are the directions to the camp.

From Portland: Take I-205 or I-5 north and get on Highway 503 East (at or near Woodland, WA) towards Cougar. Go past Cougar until Highway 503 becomes Forest Service Road 90. This happens when you are traveling along side the Swift Resevoir. When 90 meets Forest Service Road 25 make sure to turn right to STAY ON 90!! After about 30 miles, go right on Forest Service Road 88, which crosses the Lewis River. After 0.5 miles, you will turn RIGHT on Forest Service road 361. Road 361 marker is not apparent until you drive by it. Go SLOW. Than you can pull in and there we are!! If you see FS road 350 or 795 or you go over a mile, you have gone too far!! The roads are all paved until road 361 and the site is about 2 - 2.5 hours from Portland.
