Carpools: Carpools will meet at 10 am at the Daily Grind on SE Hawthorne and 41st in Portland on Saturday, September 1st. We would appreciate folks with cars meet up with us at this point to help transport folks without vehicles. We have also included directions for those who will be unable to participate in our rideshare.
Friday & Monday: Some of us will be heading out Friday from the Cascadia Forest Alliance Office to set up. Feel free to head out on Friday as well. Contact the CFA office for a ride to the area on Friday. Also feel free to spend the rest of the weekend camping out in the area. The Slinky area is very close to several other Mt. Hood Timber Sales, including the Solo sale which proposes to log 216 acres of mature and old growth forest. We will gladly give you directions and maps to other sales in the area.
Directions: 205 South to Estacada Exit (Highway 224). Take Highway 224 past Estacada, and past the
Ripplebrook Guard Station. You will reach a junction between 57 (to Timothy Lake) and 46 (to Bagby). Take a
left onto 57. Take the first right onto 5710. 5710 is a gravel road and will lead you into the Slinky
Sale. We will be camping/gathering at a site at the turn-off/road 5710-180.
