Cutting of 100 year old trees first on ODF's list
---------------------------------
ODF promised they would wait until after the "focus" group had completed their project and input.  ODF did not keep its promise.

Today they started logging Acey Line Thin after they thought the heat was off. They started in Area 3 first, of course that is the area that is in marbled murrelet buffer habitat and has the biggest and oldest trees.
---------------------------------
If you want to go see the damage that is being done you will have to get by the government sponsered blockade.
Yes the roads are blocked and patrolled by County Sherriffs and ODF personnel. Of course they are calling the blockade a safety zone for your protection.
---------------------------------
So much for the effort put forth by the community members, but we know it was just a delay to let the heat die down on ODF's poor practices.
Now we know that they will lie to get the cut out.
---------------------------------
Call ODF and let them know that the taxpayers won't stand being lied to and we are tired of having to pay for lawsuits because governmentofficials can't do a decent job.
---------------------------------
Stay tuned, more will come of this

Who is paying for this?
---------------------------------
The security and closure of County Line Rd. remains in effect through  the night. Tillamook County Search and Rescue is on patrol in the Acey Line Thin logging operation. No logging is taking place during the hours of darkness but, police  forces are still on site "for your safety". Tillamook County Sheriff's Search and Rescue member (Paul) also wanted to know "have any people dressed in black and carrying AK-47's been seen".
Who knows excatly what this police stuff is all about. Maybe the  Tillamook Sherriffs Dept. is on to something and they are going to catch  the E.L.F.
----------------------------------
Whatever the reason is the taxpayer should know WHO is paying for this and HOW MUCH. Please call the Tillamook Sheriff's Office (503) 842-2561 and Oregon
Department of Forestry (503) 842-2545 - demand answers to your questions!

Quote from ODF's Acey Line Logging Fact Sheet handed out by police officers. "Owl populations are declining (ODF study), and older forest habitat is needed as soon as possible." And how do you achieve this? Another quote from same sheet - "Thin 100-year-old hemlock and spruce."
