I don't understand !! 02.Aug.2001 11:03

green party supporter

But how could Democrats vote for this? I don't understand !! I thought there was a WORLD of difference between the Democrats and Republicans and that's why it's SO BAD that Bush is President. Oh well, I guess I was wrong. They're all a bunch of irresponsible crooks. Viva el Partido Verde !

Blame 02.Aug.2001 12:13

None

However, if Bush had never been elected prez, then this "energy bill" would have never been brought before the House. I think there is plenty of blame to go around, which includes the Greens for failing to get their message across to more progessive Democrats. The Greens need to work on getting a more electable candidate on the next presidential ballot, otherwise we are going to see plenty more destructive policies in the future.

why don't you help? 02.Aug.2001 13:50

Hey, "none"-

Why don't you HELP the Green Party if you want it to succeed? You want the GP to keep people like Bush out of office? Then you'd better expend some energy on your own and not wait around for others to do it. The Green Party needs more active volunteers. Why not become one?

back and forth 02.Aug.2001 21:57

green for a reason walespdx@speakeasy.org

so many folk wanna scapegoat, why not move forward. if you can't envision the change itll never happen. If Bore had not marginalized and ignored the greens, maybe thrown them a bone and offered open debates in 2004, or anything, formed a coalition but to be ignored only causes one to shout louder.
How many found ross perot to be a joke after leaving and reentering the race several times. Do you think in 1936(?) the amerikans asked the germans to throw the race to Jesse Owens? A race is run hard, you give it your all, then its over. If only the voters had.... if only the krackers had... if only we could all step up and accept responsiblity that things are today being a part of all our collective actions(regardless of the subject). I hope that the pissy liberals show up and protest. What kind of police response will they recieve? Helicopters I hope, just like the 35 people marching in solidarity with Genoa. Or maybe bean bag rounds/NE PDX SPECIALity. But honestly I expect the building security to give the greens more trouble than the protesters. cause it fits the pattern
