TRANSPORTATION TO PNWER/WHISTLER LEAVES FROM BURRARD SKYTRAIN SATURDAY
9AM
As folks are likely to know, there are three (3) busses booked & paid for which will be travelling from Downtown Vancouver to Whistler on Saturday morning for the Rally Against PNWER -- these busses will leave from outside the Burrard Street SkyTrain Station (Burrard & Melville in Downtown Vancouver) Saturday morning at 9am.

The response has been overwhelming in terms of the number of folks who have phoned, emailed, etc. indicating that they are looking for a lift to Whistler that morning. While this response is quite heartening, it does pose the concern that there will not be anywhere near enough seats on busses (approx 40 per bus x 3 busses = 120 people) to accomodate the number of folks who intend to go.

Therefore: A committment to car pooling by those who have access to a vehicle is absolutely necessary.

The transportation organizers have asked that folks who can obtain a vehicle for the day arrive at the Burrard Street Skytrain prior to 9am on Saturday & pick up some friendly fellow demonstrators to fill up your vehicle and bring with you on the way to Whistler (and back). As required, the hat will be passed to pull together gas money for folks who need it.
For the return trip: the organizers will endeavor to keep a list of folks who are travelling up to Whistler on the busses, and will ensure that the folks who arrived on the busses have a spot on the bus for the return trip. This will mean that folks who have arrived via other means will have to ensure that they have planned a method to travel back to Vancouver, as the return trip of the busses will most likely be entirely full. This makes car pooling all the more necessary.
