Drug Peace Vigils, NOTICE OF DEMANDS

From: Floyd Ferris Landrath, American Antiprohibition League, Portland, Oregon

Re: Drug Peace Vigils, NOTICE OF DEMANDS

To: Congressmen David Wu and Earl Blumenauer, Senators Gordon Smith and Ron Wyden
Dear Representatives and Senators,

The Constitution grants no authority whatsoever to government to prohibit an individual's natural right to use certain drugs, or grow selected plants. Prohibition, (the "drug war") is an insult to our intelligence,
our freedom and our pocket books. It has no place in a free society, it is un-natural and that's why it is always doomed to fail. People are dying and suffering everyday due to our ignorant and evil drug policies.
As you know by know, over the next 8 weeks our group is planning to stage Drug Peace Vigils at your offices in Portland. We are undertaking these explicitly non-violent actions to impress upon each of you how important it is to live up to that sacred oath you took to uphold the Constitution and to actually work in your respective Houses for Drug Peace.
You are all intelligent men of the world, you must certainly realize by now how much worse the supposed cure (drug war) is than the alleged disease (drug abuse). After decades of failure, billions of tax dollars wasted, millions of arrests, kids buying and selling drugs on playgrounds, ever mounting police corruption, prisons full of non-violent "drug offenders" many of them doing more time than murderers and rapists ... at this point
your continued silence and lack of action will be considered tacit approval and complicity in what some of us consider state-sponsored terrorism against the People and their Constitution.
Those who defend the "drug war" are in effect defending black-market drug profits, while spreading meth labs and drug addiction. Regardless intentions, when a law maker denies us our natural rights, while knowingly
enriching domestic and international drug king-pins, then the People must rise up and force them from office. Fair warning.

The Drug Peace Vigils are going forward, unless in the next few days we see action in the House of Representatives or on the floor of the Senate that:
1) DENOUNCES THE USE OF GOV'T FORCE AGAINST NON-VIOLENT ADULTS FOR SIMPLY POSSESSING OR EXCHANGING SMALL AMOUNTS OF CERTAIN DRUGS OR GROWING SELECTED PLANTS FOR PERSONAL USE;

2) DENOUNCES & MOVE TO CANCEL US PARTICIPATION IN ALL INTERNATIONAL "DRUG" TREATIES, ESPECIALLY THE UNITED NATIONS' 'SINGLE CONVENTION.'

3) REJECT 'PLAN COLOMBIA' AND ANY US INVOLVEMENT IN INTERNATIONAL DRUG WARS. (Cancel all 3rd party contracts.)

4) A US CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT TO END ADULT DRUG PROHIBITION ONCE AND FOR ALL.

THESE ARE OUR DEMANDS AND WE WILL ACCEPT NO COMPROMISE!

If by chance you choose to ignore the Rights of the People and support the "drug war" than at least be honest about it. Forget habeas corpus, suspend the Constitution so you can finnish installing the already well developed
Drug War Police State. At least be honest about the logical consequences of your god-damned "war," if you support it.

Thank you for your kind consideration,
