FRI 3/2 Latina Luncheon with muralist Judith Francisca Baca. Ms. Baca is an arts activist, community leader and professor of visual arts. She is responsible for the implementation of 250 murals in the Los Angeles area.

Ramon ramirez, President PCUN (Oregon Farmworker Union.) Mr.
Ramirez has been active in the Chicano community for over 30 years. He will show the PCUN documentary Aumento Ya! and provide an update on regional farmworker issues. He will also provide information about how you can bring justice to the fields as part of the March 9th NATIONAL DAY OF ACTION. 6:30-9:30 pm Vanport room, 3rd Floor, Smith Memorial Center
TUE 3/6 Maria Amporo Escandon, lecture and book signing. Ms. Escandon is author of the novel "Espanaza's Box of Saints." Room TBA 12:00-2:00pm.
Elizabeth "Betita" Martinez. Lecture and book signing. Ms.
Martinez has a long history of political involvment that spans participation in the Chicano Rights Movement, Black Power Movement and the American Indian Movement. Still active, she is author of 500 Years of Chicano History and De Colores Means All Of Us. She is currently working on 500 Years of Chicana History.

TH 3/8 Jorge Melendez, Programa Hispano with Lami Subia, lecture on their work with Latino youth. A discussion of youth, art and culture will follow with poetry readings and art exhibit by students. 2:00-4:00pm. Cascade Room, 2nd Floor, Smith Memorial Center
Rigobeto Reyes, Amigos Car Club San Diego, Lecture "Artisitic and Political Expression of Chicano Car Clubs 1950's to Presnet." Another long time activist and organizer, Mr. Reyes will also share his experience with

FRI 3/9 Cecelia Alvarez, Seattle artist, activist, educator. Ms. Alvarez will lecture and give a slide presentation on "Art As Cultural Affirmation." 11:00-1:00pm Room 239, Smith Memorial Center
Ernesto Bustillos, educator, activist, organizer. Panel
discussion with Alvarez and Reyes "Retaining Chicano History through Education, Activism and Outreach." Mr Bustillos has been involved in the Chicano Movement for nearly 30 years. He has been an activist and organizer with the Brown Berets, La Raza Unida Party, the National Chicano
Moratorium Committee and the Chicano Park Steering Committee. He is co-founder of Union del Barrio, one of the oldest most consistant, militant Raza liberation organizations. 2:00-4:00 pm. Multicultural Center.
