NAFTA on steroids: Sunday forum on the FTAA

On Sunday, December 3rd at 10:30 a.m. there will be a forum on the Free Trade Agreement of the Americas and the upcoming meetings and protests in Quebec in April. Salmon Street Sanctuary, SW 12th&Salmon.
"If you liked the WTO, NAFTA and the MAI you'll just love the Free Trade Agreement of the Americas (FTAA)!"

Come hear about the latest international trade agreement threatening human rights, worker rights and environmental protection and join in a discussion about how to stop it.

The FTAA could be rushed before Congress as soon as the middle of next year in an effort to expand NAFTA to all of the Americas and provide multi-national corporations with an even better weapon for defeating local and national laws aimed at protecting worker rights and the environment. Corporate interests aren't holding back on this trade agreement and have inserted some of the most dangerous provisions of the Multilateral Agreement on Investment (MAI) into the FTAA along with the nastiest provisions of NAFTA.

No you can't get a copy of the FTAA text, it's absolutely secret (Unless of course you're one of the industry groups writing the FTAA's provisions for government trade ministers).

YOU CAN though get a free introduction to the FTAA, what it is and what it would do AND join in a forum discussion on how it can be stopped on SUNDAY DECEMBER 3. Join Lewis and Clark Professor Martin Hart-Landsberg and others FROM 10:30 AM TO 11:30 AM at the SALMON STREET SANCTUARY on the corner of
SW Salmon and 12th Street! Call Kate Lore for more information at 503. 228-6389 x 44.
